Dal Fara
Ingredients:
1 cup rice flour
1 cup water
1 tsp oil
Salt to taste
For stuffing (optional):
½ cup chana dal (soaked and ground)
1 green chili, chopped
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
½ tsp cumin seeds
Salt to taste
For tempering:
1 tbsp oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
A pinch of turmeric
Curry leaves (optional)
Instructions:
Boil water with salt and oil. Add rice flour and mix well to form a soft dough. Let it cool slightly and knead.
Mix stuffing ingredients in a bowl.
Take a small portion of dough, flatten it, add stuffing, and fold into dumpling shapes.
Steam the dumplings for 10–12 minutes until cooked.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin, turmeric, and curry leaves. Add steamed fara and sauté lightly until golden.
Serve hot with green chutney.
